For some reason fable won't run unless i hook up my original hard drive. It won't run off a hard drive either ( i bought it and used dvd2xbox )

When you say hard drive loader, do you mean px-hdd13?

I'm encountering a disc is dirty screen too, but I had a very outdated bios, so I updated that to X2_4981.06, and updated PX HDD loader to 1.3 (from 1.1).

I am still running into the green dirty screen.

The only thing I see different in your setup is that your HD is locked. Perhaps that is the key. EvolutionX Build 3935 offers locking capabilities, but what are the ramifications of doing this to a modded hard drive?

Thanks for any advice...

You should lock your drive. Doesnt stop you from doing anything. With it locked you can get into ms original also.

Anyone got this to work with dvd2xbox. Ill get my copy tomorrow and want to know if i need hddloader or not.

Thanks for the help. So locking my hard drive seems to have the desired effect when playing the game from the disc, but sadly not from the HD. (previously I would encounter the green screen playing from the disc too)

I used PX-HDD 1.3 to do the ripping. But the game neither plays from within PX-HDD 1.3, nor directly from the Evo-x dashboard. Within a few seconds you encounter the green disc dirty screen.

Now I ripped the game while the HD was unlocked and locked it later, does that matter?

bigbubba7373, you out there? I'm needing your sagely advice.

I don't know actually, would have to open the xbox up to check. (Or is there a way to in software?)

It's an 1.0 xbox... Could the optical drive have caused this? Other game backups seem to be working.

My bios is 4977 right now, do I have to update that to be able to use a DVD-R backup of Fable? Or will my current bios be ok? Thanks.

So does Fable actually work in 480p [ there seem to be reports that it does not run in 480p ] ?

Wow, 2+ hours into it now, working fine off the HD (I FTP the DVD to my PC, then back to HD, so I have a backup on my PC HD to backup). I am not sure about 480p, dont have HD tv. My first impressions are "eh.. ok game, like Beyond Good and Evil.. but no Zelda" I am very disappointed with the graphics, I was expecting more for such a long dev time. I still think its a good game, just dont think its a 10/10 game, more like a 8.5/10 from my initial impressions, prolly go up to a 9-9.5 after giving it more time.
