Im using a pure xenium blue chip. My xbox has worked fine for 3 months since i had it/installed it. it hasnt moved for about 2 months. the last thing i did was play steel batallion on it last night. tried to turn it on today and its rebooting 3 times then stays on a black screen. I'm using a solderless adapter. I've tried reseating it, cleaning solder points with pure isopropyl alcohol, hitting eject as other forums suggested after it finally stays stable. Nothing works. My Xbox will boot with the normal HD and with out the chip.i had a 1.1 OS and the only strange thing was it rebooted yesterday 2 times in game with steel batallion yesterday. its the only problem ive had with this in so long. im really stumped. and its in a very ventilated cool place on top of my dresser. i've searched here and the team xodus forums but with no solution to my problem. I've tried all their reccomended solutions. could i have a bad chip? it also seems to reset my cmos settings and bios ever time i try to boot from the chip, then back into the normal xbox, my clock is reset. any suggestions would be most appriciated, im at the end of my rope. sad.gif

No you dont have to remove the solder if your using the solderless adapter. Just make sure its lined up and I suggest doing the paper trick. If your doing the pinhead then yea, solder will have to be gone. I used the pinheader after trying to bring my xbox once to a friends house to play some lan halo. Talk about aggrovating when you get there and you box just frags and you have no torx screwdrivers. Never had a problem since I used the pinheader and I move my box constantly.

i've modded several xbox's and have noticed that when it attempts to boot 3 times it is usually a problem with the d0 wire.
