Check out how I integrated my wireless controller into my Xbox. Leave me some comments. One thing I am interested in is how to add a switch to disable the wireless controller.

If a moderator would like to add it to Xbox-scene's tutorials here is a zip file.

Hmmm, I don't want to use a really because I already have one for my DVD dongle and I don't think another one would fit. I already have a wireless base, 12v relay, and dvd dongle inside the case. I was thinking an on/off switch to disable the wireless controller, but I have heard many different things. Some people say disable the USB voltage wire, both voltage and ground, or all 4 wires. I was wondering if any one knows for sure which wires could be disabled so that a controller which is plugged into the first port will work.

WOW, nice job man. I have the same controller, will try this tonight. Let you know how it goes. Your tut looks very clear and specific so it should be easy for me to install.

You don't have to lose memory card functionality. You could find a way to mount it under the DVD drive so that the side with the memmory card plug is pointing out. Then cut out casing and stick it out a little bit. So when you want to use a memmory card, just stick it in the side of the box.

Nice tut!! an even cooler addon would be to add usb ports were the memory cards would go and make an adaptor for a memory card aswell. biggrin.gif

and put the LED to the number thing so you know its on.

if you wanted to switch it you dont need to do all 4 wires just 3, the 5v and the 2 data lines.

excellent! I had read a tut like this a while back, but wasn't very in-depth...now I will definitely do this!

But I have a question. Does it matter if you have the traditional black case? Because right now I have a clear case and I'm thinking that it will work fine, the signal will go right through to the receiver. But, I am about to do a slimbox, with the standard black case. My issue is that, wouldn't the opaque case block the wireless signal?

That won't make a difference, just remove the metal shield on the top and around the side area you put the receiver.

Btw, you dug up a 4 year old post..
