I've got the same problem as a lot of people here with my new trilogy dvd's f*'ing me over.
I am running the cheap mod with Executor2 bios. I have not messed with my box in over a year when I modded it. Where are some instructions to show me how to reset my dash for the MS dash and also have the Evox dash. I have a switch properly installed, but when I turn it off my box wont boot up. I am assuming it is because of the original dash being renamed msdash. In a nutshell I never properly set up my drive to be able to boot as normal when I turn my chip off. Now I've got 50 games on my HD and dont want to lose them. Before you guys flame me I have looked through the tutorials and can not seem to find this answer. Thanks in advance, |

You probably originally had:
MS dash = msxboxdash.xbe Evox dash = xboxdash.xbe The Star Wars DVD installs the new MS dash as xboxdash.xbe, so your EvoX dash would have been overwritten. To make everything work, you should have: MS dash = xboxdash.xbe (this is what the Star Wars DVD would have done). EvoX dash = evoxdash.xbe With modchip on, the X2 bios should load evoxdash.xbe first, with modchip off, the retail bios will load xboxdash.xbe as normal. |
