Well, before you can hook it up, you need to figure out how much power (and what type) it takes. Without knowing that, you'll most likely blow it on your attempt to install it (and possibly your xbox/fuse). Unless it's the same voltage as one of the stock LEDs, you'll probably have to install a transformer of some type.

Is there anyway to like put a voltmeter thing on it to test what it uses, cuz there is no possible way i can find what it uses, unless i search google and find a strobe that looks the same as that one, but thats could take many days or w.e. When i got it i just thought it would prolly work if i hooked up a couple of batteries. the main thing i need to know is where each leg goes if i want to hook it up to a battery or summin. Thanks

Unfortunately, i don't believe there is an easy way to find out what power it uses (I may be wrong on this, tho). A multimeter typically tells you how much power is coming FROM the connection, not how much it can handle.
I see that it has 3 prongs, so most likely it takes 2 different voltages. The Standard LEDs in the xbox also have 3 prongs. I believe 2 are power and one is ground. Then depending on which connection receives the power will determine the color of the LED. unfortunately, I have no idea which prong is which. hopefully someone else can help you answer that. EDIT: You may want to check in the case modding forum, as people there might be able to help you more. This post has been edited by The Juggler: Sep 28 2004, 12:32 AM |
