I have been working with an Aladdin Advance 64 on a 1.6 XBOX. I found out that it does not support HDD larger than 137 GB. I have a 250 GB drive and I flashed it with M8_16 bios. Most of the time it tries to boot but has an audio glitch when booting. After about the 3rd time it boots.
My problem is that I can't get the G: drive to format. Is there any program I can use. I have modified the EVOX.ini file. It attempts to format it but it is very quick. I can format the C: E: F: X: Y: and Z: but the G: always shows 0. Yes I know to ENABLE the G: drive in the Settings menu of EvolutionX 3935. All of the other drives are formated correctly except the G:
Should I use another BIOS? Can any BIOS's be used or do they have to be made for 1.6 versions only?

I was reading some posts and I thought a user used the X2_4983.67_256k.bin. I flashed my 1.6 XBOX and now it does not even boot and has no display on the TV.
How can I fix this and what BIOS should I use for a 1.6 XBOX? I have 3 other original ALADDIN ADVANCE 64 mods (not flashed yet - but sure has something on them M8 ? - as this originally booted up before I flashed M8_16 and now X2_4983.67_256k.bin). I could take out the SST and replace it in the bad BIOS mod. Correct??
Can someone tell me what BIOS to use with this 1.6 board with Aladin Advance 64?
Can someone tell me how I can get the G: formated to the remaining amount of the HDD. I have a 250 GB and the F: shows only 129 GB and G: is 0.
So much time has been put into this project and I need to close up the gaps.

I was able to pull out the SST chip and replace it with one from another Aladin Advance 64 mod (sockets on them). It booted up with what I think is M8 bios.
But my problem remains in what BIOS should I flash a 1.6 board with AND how do I get the G drive formated with the remaining portion of the 250 GB HDD.

I had been using Evtool with M8_16 but apparently I could not get it to work with EVOX 3935.
I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK after downloading SLAYER'S 2.6 INSTALL disk to a DVD-R. I reflashed it to M8 v16 67 which was already on the Slayers disk. It caused the XBOX "X" to become BLUE from its usuall green. It worked and then I did a complete large HDD install with G and this time it worked.
So for those that have Aladin Advance 64 mods ... the best way to break the 137 GB limit is to use SLAYER's INSTALL DISK from Bittorrent.

Hi,
When you used Slayer's 2.6, is the bios the one for v1.6 and the warning says NOT to use it on a modchip? I was wondering why such a warning was given. Anyway, I just want to double check if that's the one you used.

Slayers documentation strictly says only use 1.6 bios's on 1.6 XBOXs only and do NOT use 1.0-1.5 bios's on 1.6 XBOXs. So using Slayer...the only choice you have is to use the M8 1.6 06 or M8 1.6 67. I used the M8 1.6 67.
However, I did have a problem when I tried to flash with the M8 1.6 67 on an XBOX (Slayer DVD inserted and booted) with a new larger HDD BEFORE it was formated. The bios stopped 1/2 way through and stopped. It never booted again. Luckily I had a couple of Aladin Advance 64 mods and I was able to pop one out and reinsert it into the badly flashed (un formated HDD) mod. I booted it back up after the new SST chip replacement and formated the HDD and THEN flashed the bios again and it worked.
Use only the M8 1.6 67 (for drives F and G) or M8 1.6 06 (for big F drive). I have a 250 GB drive.
This is the easiest way to get past using a larger HDD than 137 GB with an Aladdin Advance 64 mod.

Under the slayer's, with a ver1.6 and selecting to use the F and G drive bios for ver1.6, I'm asking if the warning that appears tells you NOT to use the flash with a modchip. Cos I double checked and I'm wondering if that warning is wrong.
Yes, it is a ver 1.6 box, and yes, I'm talking about the m8 v1.6 F & G drive bios.
Can you check the warning pop up box that appears when you select that bios to flash?

You can flash the M8 1.6 67 bios from Slayers install DVD/CD to the Aladdin Advance 64 modhip as I have twice now with no problems (just make sure you have a formatted drive first before you flash). It is safe.
