Hello,
I was just wondering why I couldn't upgrade any OS on my friend's Xbox. It is a 1.6 and I did a LPC Rebuild using top d0 with a blue Xenium chip. Everytime I go to Recovery Mode, the Xbox frags and then reboots and comes back to Xenium OS2. I can't upgrade to OS 2.0.0 or to 2.0.1. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem in almost the same situation, i have a v1.0 upgraded no problem.
Friend has a v1.6 i just did for him with Xenium Blue And it does the same frag and reboot when you try to use software recovery (haven't tried using recovery switch yet).
I would love to get some more info on why it won't upgrade. Also will using the recovery switch allow the upgrade or are we just out of luck with OS updates, Blues and v1.6's unless we do upgrade in a different box.

BTW guys, there may be an alternate method for upgrading the OS that is 1.6 compatible and even will work on Xenium blues. I doubt recovery mode will ever be updated though, it's a policy of sorts I guess. Wouldn't it be ironic if you fried your chip trying to update the recovery mode This 'new' upgrade mode would likely be built into the OS, and beseperate than recovert mode...

having a recovery mode built into the OS wud be risky, specially with the way ppl are screwing up with the current recovery mode not to mention ppl will prob get more confused maybe they shud add your idea of the recovery mode into the soft recovery section (from the menu) and if worst comes to worst then u can always open up, flick the switch and hard recover
your idea is really good, an upgrade mode is perfect, no more confusion also they can ensure that the upgrade file is valid (some sort of file check in the OS) again if worst comes to worst then u can always open up, flick the switch and hard recover
then again I have no idea how the recovery mode really works or if there's a diff between the two so I'll shut up now...
