This is what ive been up to in the past hour smile.gif. I decide it was time to jam another HDD into my xbox so I had to rearrange some tall components on my 1.6 mobo. I did it succssesfully and then i went to making the dvd drive smaller. Hesitant to even touch my sammy, i first decided not to do it. But then after hitting myself several times in the face decided todo it anyway. Since I was cutting the hell out of the drive anyway I decided to make a nice ghetto DVD window, that i hope will work lol! But as you can see in, well I dont remember which one lol but its one of the drive on its side. I plained it sorta with my dremel thats really a 40000rpm rotozip OMG!!!! But as you can see it worked. As soon as im done typning this up ill be heading back into my basement and garage to finish it up and relocate the dvds pcb. Anyway ill keep you posted!

And these were resized to half of normal, sry if they are still to big but deal with it and turn up your res.!

Give us some more details on how you actually rearranged some of the taller components on the mobo. I never heard of anyone doing this and was wondering how you are going about doing this.

OK im fucking happy now!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif It took alot of time and shit but it was worth it. Ill take some pic later but first, my hdd outshell is touching the back of the dvd pcb a bit and resting on some components on the mobo, should i glue some anit static shit to the dvd pcb? Thats what im thinking of doing. Also was going to do this to bottom of hdd. The Im GOING to mount heatsinkds along the side of the hdd to help keep it cool in this amazingly cramped condition. Hmm, ill go try that antistatic shit now. Then ill take some pics of it smile.gif!

This post just gave me an idea. Someone could actually replace a a stock xbox hard drive with a larger one (like 250GB) and then put a 8-10GB laptop hard drive under the dvd for non-modchip use like xbox live. This would be very easy.

Or you just lock your upgraded hard drive and use xbox live from that...
