| QUOTE | | 1) Does anyone know which one? |
i'm pretty sure it's eeprom (if i had to pick between the two). tsop wouldn't let you boot at all, and you'd be in the flash green/red/green/red/green/etc and get the error message.
| QUOTE | | 2) Can I flash the TSOP or eeprom without a mod chip? and how do I do it? |
no you're going to need something that will allow you to boot unsigned code (unless you want to desolder them and resolder them to another xbox, flash, desolder and resolder to original [or just socket them for ease of use] but all that would require a mod chip AND another xbox)
| QUOTE | | 3) Or if I need a mod chip to fix the problem can I fix it with an Xecuter 3? |
the x3 you could fix the eeprom easily by allowing you to boot unsigned code, then you could run configmagic final. it's theoretically possible to reflash the bios ( check here), but i'm not sure how you'd do that. here's lordvader129's tut on reflashing it with an lpc mod chip ...| QUOTE | | 4) and does anyone know what TSOP and eeprom stand for? |
tsop = thin small outline package ( google def'n) eeprom = electrically erasable programmable read-only memory ( google def'n)
