Yes.

Either use older dashboard (3944/4034/4817) which looks in the root of C for the fonts (whereas Live enabled dashes (4920+) use C:\Fonts\)

Or do the following:

Create C:\F0nts directory
Rename ORIGINAL xboxdash.xbe xb0xdash.xbe (NOT the update.xbe file!)
Hex-edit xb0xdash.xbe to look for the fonts in the C:\f0nts directory instead of c:\fonts

RolfLobker,

Thanks for the reply. Will have a go at Hex editing the xb0xdash.xbe file.
Can you give me an idea what to use to edit the file and what I am looking our for as far as editing?

Thanks

I don't see why any of these questions need to be asked since they have been asked and answered many, many, many times before.

Thanks for the link, just find it difficult to search for anything with less than 4 letters....... i.e. UXE.

Cheers

This method did not work for me, has it anything to do with the fact that I have got the following spec xbox.

V = 1.4
K = 5713.01
D = 5659.03

I have tried to downgrade the dash to 4920 but still get error 13.

Anyone help?

Thanks

K:5713 & K:5838 dashes cannot be downgraded much wink.gif. You must use UDE2 or UXE

(Currently "K = 5713.01" works with "D = 5659.xx, 5680 or 5960.01" eh. wink.gif)

Thanks guys,

I have managed to install UXE but cannot get the MS Dash to load when selected from Evox.

Can anyone advise how I would get the MS dash to work.

Cheers

you have to hex edit it so it looks for the right fonts, for example all fonts instances to f0nts. then name that file a certain way like msxboxdash.xbe and link that in the evox.ini file

Thanks,

What is the hex for f0nts? Also do I have to sign anything with xbedump -font ?

Cheers

you just search for the text string fonts. also if you are running pbl you shouldn't have to sign it and certainly not with font since that is not even used by the UDE/2/UXE

Sorted.......... thanks a lot guys !!

Used origonal xboxdash.xbe (5659.03) and hex edited all the fonts to read f0nts then applied the habibi patch.
