Okay... so I ahve Slayer's 2.6 runni g on my xbox. I read through the tut, but I don't get it. I tried booting up my xbox with my new Samsung HDD in, but it won't FTP with it, so I can't transfer anyhting (used smartxx's ftp prog ED@Chip, ftp works fine with retail hdd, doesnt work with new hdd). I also tried putting in my new hdd then booting up my xbox with the slayer's install disc, but it says error code 7. It boots from the disc fine with the retail hdd.

My problem is that I just don't understand how this can work. Can someone help me?

when booting to a slayers disc it shouldn't matter what HD you have in it. as long as your chip is installed correctly with the correct bios then it should always boot right to the disc when it is in the dvd drive. from their its easy as pie to format the new HD(thru the slayers menus'), then install your dashboard and apps.

Make sure the new HD's selector pin is on cable select. and the ide and power cables are all the way plugged in.

ahh the bitch was set the slave because i was gonna clone my old hdd to the new one within smartxx os, but i don't have a molex splitter. thanks for that quick response, ALOT. modding time smile.gif
