set up internet connection sharing on your laptop all network ip's need to be in the same range as your modem and wifi card.
on your xbox set your ip in the same range as the rest of the network set your subnetmask to the same as your network (255.255.255.0) set your dns1 as your internet dns1 (use ipconfig -all in dos prompt) and dns2 for your dns2.
use your laptops ip address for the gateway
in the end should look similar to this
Xbox IP is 192.168.1.5 Gateway: 192.168.1.2 DNS1: 203.130.24.70 DNS2: 203.130.26.70 Laptop network Card is 192.168.1.2 Wifi modem is 192.168.1.1 Wifi card is 192.168.1.10

after sorting out ICS it will set you pc/laptop network to 192.168.0.1 you might have to manually change that back to what you want it to be. If it still won't work then can you change both your wifi and modem to be in that range (standard for home networking)
