Hello.

The problem is that i screwed up an installation with this Aladdin-chip.
i belive to to be an Advance XT chip, because its not Live and its not Aladdin 32, 64 or Advance. Well anyway, if you look at my picture you see the spots i call 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on, some of them came looseŽ, so that don't have any connection any more. Could someone with a Advance XT chip use a multimeter and see how 1, 2, 3... corresponds with A, B, C.. ?

would be really grateful, and it could be usefull for everyone else that have had problems with their Aladdin chips..

Thanks alot for all contributions.. =)

Normally there is a female pin header where A-L are. This is exactly the same thing as wiring the chip up via the LPC connections (1-9 in your diagram).

Here is what your corresponding letter & numbers should be (on your diagram):

A-not used for Aladdin chips
B-9
C-8
D-7-but not used for Aladdin chips
E-not used for Aladdin chips
F-6
G-1
H-2
I-3
J-4
K-not used for Aladdin chips
L-5

Evil Ryu: Thanks alot! I updated the diagram now so all should be ok!
I think there are more of us who might need this diagram, so all credits goes out to you.

verawarez: I not to sure I understand what you're saying, are you asking if i got install-diagram for the XT? Hmm, actually i don't have that, I use those i found through this site only..
Maybe its time to make a good diagram for XT-Pinheader install...

There's not a whole lot to it. I used a SmartXX LPC rebuild diagram, it nice and large and simple. Besides that, it's BT, LFrame, and L1 to the chip. It would be nice to see a new one though, most of the ones showing where to solder BT and L1 on v1.6 boxes are not very clear.

Ok, well I can see there's definitely room for a good XT tutorial here.
Well, I'm gonna put one together with additional pinheader-installation, all soldering points needed and so on, does anyone have nice pictures to contribute with or should i make everything myself?

I could snap a few pics. My digi cam is really good with closeup shots. If you need a specific area let me know.

My LPC rebuild:

The tape is b/c I used a longer bit of wire and it kept getting in the way.

And my complete install:

I could take more if necessary. I did skip the BT and L1 points on the mobo and opted to ground out the LFrame and BT. But I could take a pic of the spot where BT and L1 go so someone could color label it.

LMK if I can be more of a help.

Sorry if i'm not too good in english msg posting cuz i'm Mexican and my english is not as good as yours, but i do my best biggrin.gif

Then Do u have installation diagrams for alladin xt? that's what i mean, cuz i have it and i didn't find any good installation pics for xt, the only pics that i have for installin are some of the pics that my seller sent to me, but they were edited pics of other type of aladdin mod, even in aladdin website they haven't any support for XT so i don't know if that is a genuine aladdin mod

If u want my pics let me know it and translate it to english cuz they are in spanish
if u have some good ones, pls post them, if not i could send mine

I'll take som pictures myself, as soon as i get hold of a 1.6 Xbox...

Gonna start with 2 ways of soldering a female pinheader onto the XT though..

Thanks alot all!

Great Idea.

I have no idea why the install guides for Aladdins XT and XT Lite are so terrible. It looks like a very easy chip to install. Since the chip maker decided to make a half assed install diagrams with really terrible pictures, it makes it harder than it should be for people to intall their first chip.

I would bet beans to doughnuts, that if there was a decent tut for these installs there would be half as many "HELP!!!" threads concering aladdins. Pictures are the key for a good tut. The ones posted above IMO, are no better than the bad ones used to make the offical install diagrams. You need to clearly see what points need to be soldered, not a blurry picture of the general area.

Are y'all talking about the diagrams that have XenoChip in the bottom right corner? If so, yes those are horrible.

All we really need pics of are the points for the BT and L1 points. The LPC rebuild is universal, and SmartXX has a really good diagram on how to do it.

The SmartXX LPC Rebuild Diagram:
