How do you change where the bios will look for your dashboard .xbe? I was cleaning my C and E drives today and noticed that I couldnt move my evox dash because the bios wouldnt look for it anywhere but C:

Thanks in advance!

Soryy for DP, forgot my xbox info --

40 gig Maxtore HD
X2.3b Lite + Solderless
V1.0
Running X 4973 Bios
Banned EEPROM
Unbanned (new) Hard drive, got it after the banning.

Also, if I tried to recover my account b/c I thought maybe I wasnt banned (with my new HD) will they reban me or just deny me service? By doing that, is my new HD screwed for Live! also?

I suggest you upgrade your bios while you're doing this (I mean what better time than now wink.gif)

Download x-2 4981 (because you can open that up in xbtool, otherwise I'd say get 4983), and change the options like that.

Then reflash your chip using your preferred method.

From what I can see, you know that banning is based on your eeprom, not your hd (at least not right now :rolleyes)

Buy a new eeprom file from someone, use config-magic to restore it, and only go on live with your chip off, and the factory hd in your box. They shouldn't reban you as long as you wipe everything clean and just leave the ms files on the hd, and have your chip off.

Wait wait...did you try to recover your account on your banned box already?? Not smart dude wink.gif

Wipe the 8/10 gig drive clean, and reinstall the ms files. Re-do your eeprom. *Then* run account recovery. Make sure you keep your factory hd clean though.
