I built this little application to help you guys out. You type in your serial and it calculates where your xbox was built, the year and month it was manufactured, assembly line and number. It'll also figure out what version your xbox is. I gathered the information from the xbox lunix project site. May be helpful to people who are new to the mod scene.

Give it a spin and let me know what you think.

The updated version is on page 2 of this thread

Also, let me know if it doesn't work with your serial. Its new so there might be a few bugs to work out.

hi, i type in my serial press the tick button.the next page appears saying it was built in 2002 in china etc etc.
but when i click continue the next page apperas but with no writing.

this will be an extremely helpful program when all fixed though.

Edit: Under credits, you prob mean Xbox Linux, and not Lunix.

Also, AFAIK, the list is not extremely up-to-date (certainly not complete), and maybe with this occasion we can rekindle the flame to keep it informed -and stay away from the damn 1.6s. Anyone willing to restart a project like that?

frimlock is right, why hasnt anyone done anything like this before???
i tried it and said mine was a 1.3 which i knew it was, good thing bout this program is that it doenst end up with "1.3/1/4" leaving u unsure between two versions
very well done!!! i think thye should pin the website!
