I have a version 1.6 xbox and a 2.3b lite Xecuter. I rebuilt the lpc and did the alt 5 v power. I flashed the chip today and unfortunatly now when i load any app the harddrive sounds like it dies out and the box locks up. I know it is not the hardrive cause i used another. I am thinking it is the M8_16 bios since it is flashed on bank one. Is this right? that is what the search has showed. I just want to make sure before i have to go through this again. From what I can tell i have to flash a 1 mb bios file to bank 2 for M8 to work properly. Can anyone with this setup confirm this? Any help would be appreciated. I did use the search and found out all kinds of stuff but a lot of it is contradicting.

More detail is needed about your problem. When you boot your xbox does it frag right away or does it go into the dashboard and it frags when you try and load an app after that?

Your bios should be fine. Your chip is capable or holding 1028kb wrths of bios. It also actually has 4 banks. The first two make up bank1 on the switch and the second two make up bank2 on the switch. It shouldn't matter though when you first flash it. I dont know what could be causing this since the chip has to be correctly installed in order to flash it which you already did.

Thanks for your reply. it boots fine to the evox dash but whenever i load an app it locks up. I haven 't reflashed that bios yet I am still hopeing to find some more info. I would of flashed it 10 times by now but everytime i flash it i have to unsolder the chip and hook it up to an older xbox. Painful.

Xbox Version: v1.6
Free Bump having same problem.

Have a v 1.6 mother
Hooked up x 2.6 chip from tut.
Flashed chip with m8 plus bios (1MB)
Boots fine get EvoX logo at top left corner boots to skin however
Xbox will load apps but will not play games from DVD or HDD. mad.gif


Any suggestions...
