Xbox-Scene is not responsible for any transactions, or any actions of it's members in this forum whatsoever!

Anyone choosing to conduct any sort of transaction with another member on XS does so at their own risk and expense.

As individuals, you need to take responsibility for your own actions, and you need to take responsibility for the fact you are dealing with strangers on the internet. Xbox-Scene is not a professional Sales service.. and is provided free and without any kind of warranty. We also will not ban people because you claim they ripped you off. Do NOT send the the "evidence" as we simply do not have the time, manpower, or will to follow through on your complaints. We have no intention of mediating any more disputes.

If you are ripped off, the only thing you are allowed to do on XS is to report it in the thread of the seller/buyer/trader ONCE. Alternatively you can make a note in your signature stating your grievance with the user. What you cannot do is spam other XS forums with your complaints. Do not make threads complaining about transaction that have gone bad. Do NOT contact staff complaining that a user has ripped you off. Do NOT make new threads in this or any other XS forum complaining about the "user" that ripped you off.

Xbox-Scene Does not recommend or endorse the use of the XS BST forums unless you are willing to take responsibility for your own actions, and you assume all risk. We do however recommend that people who wish to assume that risk should research the people they are dealing with, and alternatively search out and use professional Sales forums.(many of which offer the services and customer protection you keep asking us for here on XS but will NOT get here!)

People who continue to ignore the clearly posted rules and post complaints all over the place despite moderators and staff closing and moving them.. expect two things to happen.. the person complaining (and not necessarily the accused) will have their account closed, and that BST will get closed altogether. XS has already dedicated too much time and human resources to maintaining this area of the site. If it continues to be a problem we will close it.

Also.. do not ASK for any expansion of the BST type forums as we have no intention of adding forums to this area, or to expand the services provided.

Feel free to LIST your XBOX or XBOX item for Buy, Sell or Trade. others can feel free to offer any number of legal items (under the XS rules of course) or cash in trade. What people cannot do, is start new thread, and offer NON xbox items. Period. No new threads with people offering non-XBOX stuff.

UPDATE:Getestore and Similar “store” / commissioned pre-made store type concepts – No Commission Based Sales. Period. This is pretty much a BST and BST360 specific rule. Any products offered for sale should be in direct possession by the seller. From now on, and new post in any of the BST sales type forums on XS, must list the products and merchandise in their entirety in the post on XS, or don’t bother posting at all on our site. To be perfectly blunt, XS is not here for you to make money. XS sponsors are the only exception to this rule. The items listed in any sales thread or post on XS, must actually be in the possession of the person(s) listing it for sale or trade. Selling items for a 3rd party business via a commission based "Ready Made Internet Store" does not constitute owning the stock, and will result in a closure of the thread, and possibly the account. We want members to be directly accountable for any actions/tractions they conduct on our site.

UPDATE JAN 2007: Do not start threads asking "what can I get for 5$, 10$ etc" as staff will close them and make a ban req on your account. when making a new post, either Offer to sell a product, or trade a product. If you want to buy something.. go into an existing thread and make an offer on a product or service. DO NOT MAKE NEW THREADS ASKING WHAT YOU CAN GET FOR $5 bucks etc.

Do Not Offer to Buy, Sell, or Trade GameFly Subscriptions. Members can get their own subscriptions.

UPDATE: XS will not DELETE threads on demand. Even in light of the Raids on US shops. You can request it be removed/made invisible, however, we will keep it open for 30 days if you do so, allowing those you have serviced can comment, communicate, and / or complain or raise issues. We can make some requested edits though of info you posted, however, we will keep it on file. Note, deleting or removing your thread at this point is too little, too late. the authorities have that info already, and worse, every search engine and spider crawler on the net has it archived.

Here's the situation.. and as usuall.. is a result of abuse or mebers throwing tantrums. Posts have been mass edited time and again.. usually by people participating and adding value to the site. What happened is that these people throw a tantrum.. and later go back and try to delete their history.. including key and important posts.

So to combat this.. (the destruction of data) we're imposing a 15 minute grace period on EDITS.

EDIT for the 'members' class has been disabled so to speak..

What we are allowing for is 15 minutes grace period after initial post. If they want to EDIT their original post after that period.. they pretty much can't.. unless they hit up a mod. (which will give a few mods some grief.. especially in the BST forum.. but it will subside.)

So the following has been done..

All the the dedicated forum mods for the various forums, have all now been bumped up to moderator account class. This will allow them to keep up with their assigned duties.. while side stepping the restriction on post edits. This will also allow them to make EDITS on others posts in their assigned forums.. aiding those that might need an edit for an important technical thread, guide, or list.

So you will all notice the "addition" of 40+ moderators.f

Now.. that leaves all of the other members. Well.. some who aren't mods.. do need and I want them to have EDIT access to their posts beyond the restriction.. so I have made a secondary member class.. aptly named 'member'

Only difference.. no restirction. I will give these account class designations to technical users on a case by case basis as the need arises. People will need to plead their casee individually to me. I've already handed out a few of these accounts to technical posters with guides or pin topics that get updated in their first post frequently.

Some people who apply for this access.. won't get it.. unless it's deemed important or worthy to the scene. Far to many people think their posts are written by god already.

Do not take this as an invite to un-necessarily harass me or Xantium for this account class. Harassing Admin for useless posts will get your accounts closed.. so only request EDIT access if you are actually providing info or a decent service etc to the scene. (lists of barbie fasions, someone dick size etc.. do not warrant contacting ,e or Xantium)

The last group of people who use the EDIT function alot.. are the BST types. At this time.. we have no reall solution for these users. They are free to contact one of the BST moderators and request an edit. It will then be up ot he BST moderators whether or not to make the edit. If the need arises.. I will add 2 new mods to the BST forums who will have the dedicated task of making such edits.

BST users are reminded that they have the option.. and are even encouraged.. to make a new thread each week. That would be the best way to update any prices etc. Moderators for the BST forum will be glad to.. (and are required) to close threads upon your request (this does not mean DELETE.. just close) so that you can open a new thread (and possibly link back to your previous thread(s) )

In the mean time.. the BST mods will be busy.. until a more permanent solution is found.

We are considering re-instating the full EDIT access to the members as part of a contribution level class of account. (something we actually don't want to do) That idea.. is on a low priority.

We expect.. and ask.. that the membership work with us in this regard.. and not hassle the mods unless it's necessary. Most are already overworked. We do ask that BST sellers please be kind.. and use the NEW POST function as opposed to edits.. as this will ease the burden on the staff.

Thank-You.

People with Technical Guides, Posts, Lists.. and other similar postings that need edit access feel free to contact me and I'll respond within 48 hours with a possible solution for your specific case.

This restriction might not be necessary in the next software revision (not sure one way or the other) but for the time being.. it's needs.. and it's the new reality for now.
