Well, when I finished Halo 2 on my Xbox, I almost never used the Battle Rifle or Covenant Carbine,
because I had to repeadedly pull the triggers.
When I started playing Halo 2 on Xlink this became more and more anoying.
Inspired by all the people adding jump buttons, I decided to make burst fire buttons....

I'm not fond off people starting posts about what they are planning to do,
just to make us drool and never hear from them again, so I waited untill I was finished.
I used a blinking LED circuit to control both triggers as you can see in
this little demo movie for ya'll to enjoy:
DivX - 2.7 mb

I added 2 buttons underneith my middle fingers to operate the burst fires.
I'm working on a little tutorial, but it is too dark now to make zoomed pictures,
so I'll get to that tomorrow hopefully.
Here is one picture of the assembled board which I placed inside the bottom memory slot,
the yellow/orange variable resistor adjusts the blinking speed:

I know what ya mean, my trigger finger is extra tired after 2 hours of Halo on LIVE

sounds like a great idea tho.
I'll check out the video when I get home, not a great idea to be streaming video at work. sad.gif

That is pretty freakin' awesome but, it's too bad something like this makes it so easy to cheat on XBL.

Nice mod.

well i would hardly call it cheating... there are existing FPS controllers with burst-fire, so people could have bought it already... tongue.gif

yeah, i wouldn't call it cheating either, it's not like he's messing around with the software. would you call using a keyboard/mouse with halo2 cheating? cause i do use those with the smartjoy frag.

With such aftermarket controllers that have add-ons and macros and a bunch of other bells and whistles, I would hardly call it cheating. I'd call it ingenuity and originality. Nice to see it. With the winter months, seems as though some modders have been busy or not posting. So nice to see something like this during these stale months.

that power glove in no way made playing nintendo easier, it was a pain! but memories do come back. like that one movie, the wizard (is that what it's called) where it basically was a big long commercial for Super Mario Bros. 3. sigh. the good old days.

oh, and that controller looks real cool man, keep it up, put like ten more buttons on there for alternate button mashing goodness.
