if i have a matrix with evoxdash installed can i run the xb live update from a ripped game with my modchip on or do i have run the update with my original bios running.

No, first off, backups do not work on Live, so the Xbox Live update can't even occur in the first place. So, you have to have the original game, modchip off, and then run the update.
