I have an xbox, but it does not have a hard drive installed in it.

Would it be possible to put in a hard drive, install windows XP to it, and then use it as a computer?

Could I buy the adapter for a keyboard and mouse to use with my new xbox computer?

If this is possible, please explain how to do it. Thanks.

Your xbox should have a hard drive in it (albeit a cute little 10 gig-er) unless you've bought it from someone who has removed it.

If you put a mod chip in it though you can put a new hard drive in it.

You can't install windows xp (or, to my knowledge) any version of windows, but you can install linux.

Yes there are keyboard/mouse adapters.

For in depth explanations of these and many more fun things you can do with an xbox, check the faqs and tutorials sections here on the scene.

Happy Holiday

You would need to mod your xbox to run unsigned cod (modchip)
Windows CE is the only version working on the box.
Try linux insted,
It's not a simple task though, you realy need to get your box modded first, and for a newb thats a task in its self, i suggest doing some serious research and reading most of the posts you see. biggrin.gif
And all the tutorials you can find
