Sorry to ask this but i change my ip settings on my xbox to the following
Xbox ip 192.168.1.3 gateway 192.168.1.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 then the pc nic ip is 192.168.1.2 I did this cause some one told me to do it so i could ftp into my box. I then tried to link to xbox's together to play halo. Well when i tried the two wouldn't recognize each other. I set my xbox network settings back to the default Xbox ip 192.168.0.3 gateway 192.168.0.1 Pc ip 192.168.0.2 The ftp worked fine when i changed them back to default My question is why couldn't i link the two xboxs together? will it work now sense i change the network settings back to defualt? I have a modded xbox box and the one i was trying to link to was a non-modded so i couldn't change the ip on that one. Any ideas? |

I'm guessing here so please anybody else, if I am wrong please correct me. What does an Xbox's FTP settings have to do with linking two Xbox's together to play halo? As far as I know you use a cable to connect the two Xbox's together which establishes the Systems Link. Both have a copy of Halo and your ready to go. Your Xbox's FTP settings would not effect this at all. As to why your link is failing I have no idea.

Ya know some else said that to me but ya see you change the ip settings on the nick card inside the xbox. Therefore they were not the default settings that a orginal non modded xbox would have. I was just wondering if that would have an effect on linking my modded xbox to a non-modded xbox. We tried but now connection was established.
Thank you for the reply though. |

Did you get it to work by setting the xbox nic settings back to the default or did you get it to work with the evox NIC settings still intact?

Hmm
I haven't gotten a chance to link my modded xbox to a non-modded xbox sense i change the settings back to default, but i will try soon. As for the crossover cable, that is what we used. But i will make sure to use my crossovercable next time cause i know it works. Thanks for the reply guys |

The IP address shouldn't have anything to do with the NIC, the NIC'll only have a MAC address. IP address is used by Evolution-X dashboard and saved in evox.ini. Halo isn't going to look in evox.ini for an IP address!
