I Bought A Used Gamecube. Now What?, A few GC noob questions Options

since i don't know which site to go to when it comes to gc, I'll start here.

1) I bought a used Gamecube for $49, DBZ Budokai and Viewtiful Joe for $15 each and a generic $6 memory card. Was it a good deal?

2) I plan to buy the broadband adapter and component cable adapter over at lik-sang since the local stores don't carry it. Why are they so difficult to find? Will it be like the Dreamcast BBA?

3) When I asked for PSO I was offered a plus version (or something). Will that work with homebrew and stuff? if not, Where can I find the original?


And as for the Viper (the reason for buying all this)

4) Whose a reputable retailer?

5) $70!!!? Will the price ever go down?

6) Since Cobra is BETA; Do you think there will ever be a "boot direct from media" version?

7) Is there another BIOS (from other people) in the works?


WOW the list goes on (i'm asking on the fly)


8) I know xbox-scene.com will never be matched in quality. Will the GC scene be split too like the PS2 scene?

9) URLs people anything to feed my hunger!

10) [sigh] I remember my first days reading xbox-scene's tutorials I didn't sleep for days. Lost clients because of it (I'm an independent PC Tech). Will this happen again?

1) yeah its a good deal. Hey does it have a "digital port in the back??

2) I can still find the BB in stores in the USA here its not that rare I dont think. Id get one so you can make your own images.

3)the "PSO plus" will not work only one with out the "plus" will but there are other programs out there that will do what you wanting.

4) I used robotpig. I like them but they are down for a few days here. dont know about the rest.


5) Yes eventually and cheaper clones will be made. I think your missing the point of what this is and what you can so with it if your shitting your pants over $70.


6) Prolly but perhaps not. Only time will tell. Theres nothing wrong with a good swap. Have we all become that lazy??


7) God knows. They say team Viper will release better ones. You know how to make BIO's?? If so hook us up


8) Id like to see a dedicated section here. I'm not sure its has enough info to it yet to dictate that.

10) It depends on how good you are at modding. Its really easy for me but ive done it all. Its not at all as complex as getting an Xbox up to par if youve done that.

I also have a Platinum (with digiport) from the Mario Kart Platinum Pack.

Has anyone successfully performed the viper mod on these, or more to the point stripped one to see if it's an A/B or C revision

As for my 3rd question...

I went to maxconsole and downloaded psoload v2.0 and the readme states and I quote - "Added support for new Japanese PSO versions Episode 3 and
Episodes I and II Plus. All versions of PSO should now be
supported!"

Is this really a green light for me to go to ebgames and buy the plus version? Has anyone tried it?

(before I forget) Is there any U.S. vendor that sells the viper and the supposed "gamebit" to open up the cube? I'd hate buying from multiple vendors at the same time because I'm borrowing my friends credit card.

i wouldn't buy from divineo unless you want to wait a month even if you pay for overnitght shipping you are still going to have to wait for awhile. they have been real bad lately on there shipping and services according to others who have been ordering from them lately.
