Hi, I was just wondering how much people spend on this modding stuff to give me an idea of where to get started. And how much to save up.

----------------------------------------------
For Example:
Original Console cost:
Modded Casing:
- Case cost
- Jewel cost
- extra led's
- etc

Modded Hardware:
-120 Gb hard disk cost
-Mod Chip Cost
-fans
-ram
-etc
----------------------------------------------
And anything else you can think of doing or have done to your machines.

Cheers,
Ravenge

Ooh and I almost forgot, chuck in any pictures you have of your modded gear, that stuff is way cool!

As little as possible, I find things cheap and substitute things i already have...
If you want a chip and hdd that depends on what you want..

Prices vary form $0.01 to $1.000.000+, it all depends wether you want to put alot of work into it. If you want the 'all singing all dancing mods' its gonna cost you alot.

i really don't want to add up my costs for all the stuff i've got lying around just waiting for things to be done with. i've got xbox cases and parts, ps2 cases and parts plus who knows what else. i just spent over $300 on a few tools i needed for working with idc and molex connectors along with some other tools. i purchased several 20x4 and 40x4 lcds that who knows what i'm gonna do with wink.gif but i couldn't beat the cost.

modding isn't the cost, it's the individuality that everyone adds to their projects. i've taken some ideas from mods i've seen here and i wouldn't mind if others take ideas of mine, i'd be almost honored if they did.

well xbox started off at $150
chip was $60
killed first motherboard $50
killed 2nd mb(got a new box)$150
three hd's about $100 each
led's, resistors, fan, artic silver, paint/skin, 4 item ide's, case
and at least $100 at radioshack over the past year(high prices, but when it's your only option)

so i'm over $1000

but basic mods are: xbox, chip, hd
led's online are super cheap

All 3 of my personal xbox's including all mods(too many to list)+tools, parts, and extras.....Im probally in the 1,500 range for just my stuff not including all the things i've done for some customers

a estimate of what its going to cost you to do all of what you listed is about
CASE-under $45 shipped(3rd party cases) LE's are expensive
JEWEL-under $30 for a custom etched one
LED'S-nice ones could cost up to $4 each
ETC-?
120gb hdd- somewhere in the $100 range depending on where you get it,sales etc
CHIP-some are up to $70...2.6 solderless is like $30
FANS- lighted 80mm ones (cathode or led) are around $10-$20
RAM-depending ...i wouldnt know
ETC-?
i hope that gives you a idea...these may vary depending on alot of things ..so dont quote me for EXACTS...good luck

i've done projects for as little as $75 (including xbox and chip) and over $650... it just depends on what you're looking for. but a good idea is to go to the b/s/t forums and check prices there. welcome to The Scene. beerchug.gif

Prices vary depening on how far you want to take the mod...

The XBOX cost something, Tools, and what most people forget... their TIME.

I had fun doing my mods, so time wouldn't matter much. If you trying to sell your stuff them you might want to include "labor" in your incvoice.
