Thankfully, I've never had the need to HotSwap an X3 until now.I've been contacted by someone who cannot get his X3 to boot on his V1.6b Xbox. He's only getting a FRAG. However, when he pops in a X2.6, it boots fine. This tells me that his install is good...

He contacted me to see what I thought and I said it was probably a bios issue.
I told him I could try to get the chip flashed using the HotSwap method as I have a couple Xboxes onsite with X3's.

OK.. My question...

Which is the preferred method to HotSwap and flash the X3?

Has anyone done this directly from the X3 Config menu?

I was thinking of booting my chip to the 256k Backup bios, hotswapping the chips, then flash it.

Your suggestions are appreciated!!!

It shouldnt make a difference, X3 config should be fine to do the trick.
