hey guys, i never soldered, and i had a premodded x2 xbox. i took that out and put in the x3 modchip my self. when i put the power cord in it automaticlly turns on and turns orange. help

did you just swap the chip?

otherwise, it sounds like you have crossed connected something.

If it was an x2.6 then you can just swap. If it was an earlier x2 chip (x2, x2.1, etc...) then was it a pinheader install (it sounds like it) in which case you'll only have 12 of the the 16 pins needed for the X3, hence it won't work.

But then again the on/off switch shouldn't just turn your box on without any other influence...
