Just a few questions I could not sift to the answers of in the endless information garbage heaps.

dry.gif Will not unlocking my orginal M$ 8 gig drive, cause any adverse effects with my EEPROM data if I simply piece the XBox back together with a new 40 gig IBM drive?

(Providing of course I use an auto-installer type NEW HD Format program)

huh.gif If I am using an old 40 gig drive that is formated in NTFS (from my win2k box), can I leave it in an "as is" state and throw it into the XBox? Or do I need to wipe the drive first?

unlocked is fine, just WONT run retail bios or live

just lob the NTFS drive in, allow xbox to boot to the error screen (this creates the partitions),

then format partitions as needed

I'm in a similar situation where I had to replace my motherboard but it didn't have the original hard drive with it.

I do want to run xbox live on it and the original retail M$ dash. Is there any hope for me to do so with a new 250 gb hard drive and an x3? Or am I going to need to replace the eeprom to accomplish this task?
