There are two xboxs.
The first is my roommates, his has a modchip and upgraded DVD/HDD. Mine is just your normal stock, philips xbox. The other day we FTP'd into his and made some images of the games we own. I thought it would be nice if I could backup a couple of my favorites. I burned one and it wouldnt load in my xbox, his plays it just fine. I tried burning it another way, still no luck but some progress. Now when I insert the disc its loads that first xbox logo just like when you put in a normal game, then says "unable to read". Before it would just stay in the dashboard(is that what its called when no disc is in?) and post the error message. So my question is how can I fix this? Do I need a mod chip? Do I need the upgraded DVD? I searched all around and have seen both answers. Yes, you have to have the mod chip. No, the modchip doesnt matter. If anyone has got it to work, which burner and media were you using, and what model xbox? |

You have to have some kind of mod installed, be it a modchip, a softmod, a TSOP flash, etc.
A pure stock box WON'T play backups (MS is not that stupid |
