Hello!

First of all, great forum!!!! wink.gif

Second. I want to buy a DVD-Burner because I want to burn my X-Box games. Which burner can burn the games. Does all burners burn the games.

The burners:

-Pioneer A04
-Pioneer 104
-Philips DVDRW 228K
-Philps DVD+RW208K

Or maybe there are other brands, Freecom, HP, Sony......

Which one?

I hope you can help me!

I would buy a Pioneer 104 now.

DVD+R/RW has chances to "win" the battle , but at this moment DVD-R/RW is better & cheapers for xbox/ps2 backups.

How can you says its better?I know dvd-r is cheaper but you know what else is cheaper?DVD-RAM,why is it cheaper?Because its junk just like DVD-R will be.DVD+R/RW works in the XBOX and in most dvd players.

For Xbox & PS2 the DVD-R is better.
Probably not for TV-DVD-Players.

I got an A03 back for PS2 Back-ups, and I'm glad that it works for X-Box, as well. If it's cheaper and it works, get it. That's why I have -RW instead of +RW. It doesn't matter which is better if both of them work.

i've got an hp dvd 200i. one of the first writers which support dvd+rw and dvd+r. both run great on xbox, i heard dvd+r should even run on ps2. the media is a bit more expensive but it is likely that the prices are dropping as soon as more companies produce media for it.
also the dvd+rw technology is more advanced than the dvd-r(w) and burns faster.
there are good chances that dvd+rw is winning the battle as new standard, because many companies are backing it up, even MS now.

if you already have a pioneer dvd-r(w) burner keep it, but i would suggest get a dvd+r(w) burner if you want to buy one now. or wait just a little till the prices are dropping

+RW (That's +R AND +RW) will NOT work on a PS2.
