I started with a softmod but then though it would be cool to upgrade the hd so i bout a maxtor 200 gig hd. But after i hotswapped to the new hd neither hd will work in my xbox. When is start it a screen comes up saying your xbox needs to be sirviced or something like that and I am told to call a representative. If I still have my C and E drives backed up on my computer is there any way to fix my problem and is my new hd probly screwed too?

i didnt see any error number

Did you lock the drive? Are all the cables connected properly? What are the jumper settings on the heard drive?

This is why I never recommend hot-swapping.

your old hard drive should work if all you really did was swap the new on in... you're not mentioning something else that you did.

check cables - make sure they are seated all the way and try to remember a bit more in detail of what you did

pretty sure....................?

it MUST be on CS

suggest you get an EVOX boot disc or a modchip that allows you to FTP to the xbox

the service error may be because there is nothing on the hard drive
