Hey all,
i've recently succeeded in setting up a PC-to-Xbox link via direct crossover cable. I've checked the connection with internet explorer and FlashFXP and its sturdy as a mountian goat. i can upload or download programs using either of these programs. This is whilst I'm booted to my Xenium screen, however when I launch Avalaunch, it looks for a connection then soon enough I get the error message '0.0.0.0 ErrX'. I check my network sites on the PC and the LAN connection is still active. My PC is set to IP:192.168.0.2, Subnet mask:255.255.255.0, gateway and DNS both blank. The Xbox XENIUM settings are 192.168.0.3, Netmask: 255.255.255.0, Gateway and DNS both 0.0.0.0 (settings are according to teh IceGuide). Should my Avalaunch settings be set the same as my Xenium settings? I've read heaps of Avalaunch tutes and FAQ, one Avalaunch guide said set Avalaunch IP to 192.168.0.2 with netmask 255.255.255.0 and the PC to 192.168.0.1. Anyone know why the Avalaunch link doesn't work but my Xenium does? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks! Also, I intend to allow Avalaunch to access my dial up internet connection. I've configured the PC side of the this process (tutorial) however I access the dial up connection through a proxy and I was wondering how I go about compensating for this. I can enable proxy in the Avalaunch.xml file but do I also need my supply a DNS or something for this proxy? thanks again! |

Set them the same. Did you turn off DHCP by chance...cause it should not give you 0.0.0.0 if you assign a static address.

No, you only configure the proxy settings if the xbox is directly connected to the proxy server. Since your going to use ICS, this is not necessary. |

Thanks jameswalter, I've just now read somewhere else about the 0.0.0.0 error and they said its related to my DHCP setting too. I'll go ahead ad check that its disabled.
A big thanks to you too Project722, otherwise I prbably would have ended up messing around with that proxy stuff unnecessarily. Thanks guys |
