I am going to upgrade Harddrives now (not going over 137gb). Should I load my bios and dashboard on the old harddrive and then back them up and copy them to the new harddrive? What order should I go in? Thanks again for the help. My first time soldering, I installed it the first time perfectly.

Yes, simply put you should backup your old hard drive, format and partition the new drive however you choose to do it and simply send the copied drive data back over to the new drive.
Makesure you backup your epprom data and hard drive passwords from your old drive just in case. Your bios is on the chip, that will remain the same. |

Right now when I boot up the box it has some options, Boot from hdd, Boot from disk and some other ones, I didnt know it had a pre-loaded bios on it. So I should not do anything with the old harddrive except back it up and back up the eeprom.

Ok, I am going to load the bios using a CD-RW, do I need to copy my dashboard to the same disc to load it or do I do that after the bios has been loaded?

Try putting in the new hdd, using slayers to format+restore, then telling it to install evox so you can ftp into your box and load whatever dash you want

Fisrt thing's first if your HDD is bigger than 137G the edit it to include the lba48
You need to do this in to steps! 1. You have the old HDD in and a blue screen right! If so make your CDRW with your bios then pick load bios from CD and it will do it's thing then after that is installed your create another disk (evox boot disk) and when this disk is inserted and powered up it will give you the ability to make a backup, when that is done the FTP to your xbox and retrive that back up! 2. Install new hdd and use slayer to format the HDD and rebuild, Everything is done for you! then rebot and evox will be your dash and you will be able to FTP that back up to your new HDD! |

Awesome, thanks a million! I probably wont go over 137gb but that 200 gig from Comp USA for 99.99 is tempting.
