I am working on an xbox and having some problems. It will not boot at all, no power, sometimes after a few hours of being unplugged it turns on then freezes, its a tsop flash mod. As far as I can tell all the connections are good, and I have tryed with a known working power supply and still nothing. It seems like it is a mobo problem. The solder on the points for the Tsop looks a bit messy, but traces seem fine, and no solder splash. Any ideas at all?

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THAT SUFACE MOUNT TRANSISTOR ,THEmm BT3906, llamma.com has a tut on it in their repair xbox area. they call it T2 & it seems to fail a fair bit.

seems the problem was I should have checked how many screws I put in, 1.0 - 1.5 have 11 screws my board was a 1.6 only 10 screws. so When I tightened the lid and turned it on there was nothing. Where the 11th screw went the screw port which is metal touched the bottom not sure how to fix this so any help would be grateful. That extra screw on the 1.0 to 1.5 is just below the av socket. Ive tock that off now just need to fix the board. sad.gif

ok heres your problem: http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/~xbox/xbox-scene...esurrection.pdf

if you want to test however REMOVE THE TRANSISTOR, and solder a wire between the collector and emitter pads.
