A cool idea just hit me im not sure if this is possible but I like the idea. Well anyway i have this idea and it has to do with the front panel and the controller ports and the numbers above them. When you plug the controller its works right but my idea is to drill the numbers out above the ports (just the numbers not the whole circular thing) and when you would plug in a controller there would be this LED that goes on once the controller is plugged into the controller port. Im not sure if anyone has had this idea before but i like the sound of it.

If it is possible could somebody help me with it!!
Thanks.

maybe you could drill out the whole hole and then put a transparancy in that hole with #1-4 and the put an led behind it?

I wrote a tutorial on how to do that... though I've never seen anyone carefully carve out the numbers and light behind it... most people just drill a hole and plop the LED in...

I'm doing this, only I drilled the holes out, and then put in plexyglass in the hole. Put an led behind it.

Your gonna need some serius skills, and a laser or water cutting machine to carve the numbers out to my satisfaction. I think just putting a hole there and lighting them would be cool...

I've seen someone actually drill the numbers themselves out. Can't remember who, but the pic is in their sig. I just drilled a hole.

but yeah, follow twistedsymphony's tutorial.....basically, just ground the LED to the port casing and insulate the port casing from the xbox shielding.

since the Led that would be doing the activity where you plug it in and the led would turn on would be running to the ground controller port thing could it also be possible to have LED's in the controller ports that always remain on. I think its possible.

Look for the XTEC, it's the chip which lets you do this, you can choose different colour combos and it's not too expensive ethier.
