I rebuilt a new HD from scratch and put UXE Complete with nkpatcher. Setup my shadowC and used DaddyJ's tutorial to put a Live dashboard on my virtual C drive, using Top Spin...
Anyway I coldboot Top Spin and try to access to Live, it tells me "could not connect to Xbox Live. Do you want to troubleshoot your network connection?"
Is this just a simple network misconfiguration question, or have I been banned already?!
I should mention that I don't have a gamertag and I've never even signed up for one..

I forgot to mention, the box is set to DHCP and should have received the default gateway from the router (WRT54G) so theoretically it *should* be able to resolve the live servers right?
Guess I'll just find a two-month trial and try it out... due to the marriage theory I think I'll upgrade it to a bigger HD before I ever sign on to live.

Hmm, just spetn a couple hours trying to config xbox live, but couldn't connect...
It says cables connected... but IP not confirmed, DNS not resolved, Xbox Live not found, etc. I thought if you coldboot you bypassed the live blocking features of nkpatcher...c ould that still be on even if I coldboot? (boot up with Top Spin dvd in tray)

This is very strange... could it be that the ISP is blocking XBOX LIVE ports?
I just installed a new 160G hd, but my xbox has never been connected to XBL, no GTs created or anything. I used DaddyJ's tutorial to put the MSDASH onto my shadowC. Any ideas?

(When the box is cold-booted the M$ kernel/BIOS is used automatically [not the softmod's]. Consequently the real C partition is being used too [not shadowC] eh.)

Then theoretically, I shouldn't be able to use IGR when I cold boot, right? (L+R triggers+back+start)

Hmm, I recall you recently changed from a UDE2 setup, in order to cold-boot an NTSC-J disc ... is your box currently set to the correct region for the TopSpin disc eh?
