I have been looking into upgrading the RAM in my 1.6 xbox. but I have read a few things saying that it can't be done to a 1.6. Is there a reason for this? or a possible way of doing it?

Thanks,
farklem

You can't upgrade the RAM on a 1.6 or 1.6b XBox, and the XBox-Linux web page has a good explanation why. The extra solder pads required for a RAM Upgrade are missing on these boards and there is no way to get them, aside from buying a 1.5 or below board.

i think it could be possible by removing the ones that are already there for bigger ones.
