I recently got a batch of Aladdin XT 4032 mods - and unlike my older ones, i cannot seem to get it to load the Evox dashboard. It plays homebrew dvds and cd-rw's fine, and I have tried using slayers to install evox to no avail. It boots fine to MSDash, but when I hold power to boot Evox, it boots with the logo and will play discs, but still goes to the MSDash. I was wondering, what file does it look for and load from when booting with the chip on? How can I get it to load to the Evox menu/dash rather than the ms one? Please let me know!

who knows! I've got no idea what bios your chip came with and pulling a boot order out of my bum isn't going to happen. Just reflash your chips with something that you know is compatible w/ your boxes and that has evoxdash.xbe as one of the dashboards it will load (yuo'll want it to be before xboxdash.xbe).
chips dont decide which dashboards to load... the bios does

Well, maybe this will help you find the proper area of your bum with the info. I bought from robotpig.com, and when I boot there is a crest in the top left that says "EvoX". I jsut cant get the darned dash to load, as it goes to msdash. Which is not the real ms dash that I need, xboxdash.xbe or msxboxdash.xbe? Because both are on my c.

I just PM a reply to you regarding this. But reading this if you are sure your evoxdash.xbe is on C: then you will have to re-flash the bios. Double check you have evoxdash.xbe installed to C: M8 bios does not look for msxboxdash.xbe

Hahaha, thanks for the help Regardless of where it is from, of course! Okay, for some reasin slayers was not installing a working evox dash, it was just booting back to msdash. I ftp'd over a proper evox dash, and it is working fine now. Thanks for all the help. - I am now putting in another hdd, so you might hear from me if it does not work like the last time I did it!

I reckon your dvd-rom was struggling to read the evoxdash from the cdrw or dvd-r your slayers is on and it wasn't copied over properly. This makes sense becuase the chips from robotpig do indeed boot evoxdash.xbe from the C:\ drive.
