My setup is an Xbox with a static IP, a Linksys router, all hardwired to my PC. I use FlashFXP (the latest version). Up until recently, it has worked fine, but all the sudden when I am coping a game from or to the Xbox H/D, it will freeze and time out (or copying anything to/from the Xbox for that matter). What's weird is that it completely kills my internet access on my PC (requiring me to completely reboot my PC in order to get it to work). Something else that has bothered me for a while is that my Norton 2005 will once in a while tell me it has blocked a ‘backdoor trojan’ incoming from my Xbox. I tell it to ignore it because I assume it is something in the Xbox that it is interpreting as rouge (but probably isn't). I’ve tried Passive setting on and off, and this does not seem to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To add more info to this, and make it more organized:

Xbox v1.6
Xenium chip, with the 2.4.0 OS
EvoX BIOS (though I'm not 100% sure on that)
XBMC and/or EvoX Dashboard
Linksys WRT54G Router (hardwired, Xbox is on a staticIP)
FlashFXP (latest build) and/or C-box Tool (2.0.6)

As stated before:
When I attempt to FTP or rip games from or to my Xbox it will lockup. More specifically, it appears my Xbox locks up (I notice that the ticker in the upper right hand corner of XBMC stops and the controller doesn’t respond); I have to reboot it. And what’s weirder is that my PC looses all internet connection, requiring me to reboot my PC. Now I’ve tried both the XBMC and the EvoX dashboard, and I have the same result, so that doesn’t seem to be the factor. I’ve also tried C-box Tool and QWiz tool and I have the same problem. I’ve also tried with the Passive settings on and off in the various apps with no success. Could it be a defect with my Xbox somewhere?

I am also very confused about my Norton AV 2005 reporting that it detects ‘backdoor trojans’ incoming from my Xbox. Why would it think this? I thought maybe it was my Norton that was doing it, so I completely turned off my Norton and it still freezes when transferring to/from the Xbox. Aside from the fact that Norton doesn’t appear to be the issue, why would it say this? Could there be something rogue on my Xbox or could something be trying to get in by passing through my Xbox (since I have it configured for internet access)?

Again, any help would be appreciated.

See, mine is inconsistent, that's what’s frustrating. And the fact that my Xbox seems to lock up makes me think there is something else going on.

With Pasv on it won't work in evox so make sure if you are using evox that pasv is off. go to start , run , type cmd and hit enter. Then type ipconfig /all and paste that here and also tell me the ip, subnet, gateway of evox you use.

OK, I think I can put a nail in this one. I'm PRETTY sure it had to do with my NIC. One KEY thing I forgot to mention is the type of NIC I was using (duh). I have a Marvell Yukon NIC built onto my motherboard. I've come the conclusion this card is crap. I was having problems with Kai as well, and I read up on their forum and it seems others are having similar issues. I popped in an old faithful 3Com 3C905B and my Kai problems went away. I still need to test FTP transfer, but I suspect this will help my issues out.
