I'm selling a modded xbox, Has a 160gb hdd (WD) that's fairly new. Also has a Xenium ICE mod chip. No jewel (cracked when I took it off). I added blue led's to the controller ports and front button. I also added an 8port switch to the back of my xbox. Hdd is loaded with emulators, has avalaunch dash updated with some apps. Includes A/V and power cords. Not in any rush to sell this. Taking offers.

Hubs and switches are differant. And lols good idea with the switch in the box. You should route the nic to it and place it where the female connector use to be in a rectange, 3 x 2. Cut the switch up it shouldnt be too hard and would own.

Wouldn't be hard, but there isn't much space to work with. Also, it would get rid of one of the ports (which I use alot with XBC) which kinda sux. What's the difference between a hub and switch? I don't know too much about networking.

a hub is layer 1 and makes no logical decicians. in fact, it makes no decision. its only a place for date to "change lanes".
Layer 3 Router Layer 2 Switch Bridge Layer 1 Hub Repeater a switch makes a type of logical decision as it does make a table of mac addresses and ips. only allows those(as turned on) onto the network, and it also used for segmentation(isolation). only bad thing about a switch is that it forawards collision.... damn switches.... oh and i'm not making an offer, but bmwboi that things at least worth $350 with all the work he's put into it. Thanks for explaining the hub thing. Never knew how it worked, just that it did.
