tryin to copying a bunch of gba roms over but alot of them fail cause they are really long file names

i searched and some posts came up with 15 as the limit and others saying 42 is the limit the Xbox's FATX file type can handle

was just wondering whats the right one

also, instead of puttin the roms on the xbox hd, if i put them on dvd, will the length of the characters dont matter?

thats crazy

i tried gba renamer but it didnt work for me

i actually got these gba roms off a iso cd made for xbox, do the xbox read long names off cd better than off the hd?

guess i'll have to try tonight when i get home from work

there is a program that changes the names of mp3s for xbox, maybe that will work with gba? can't remember the name of prog but its in the utilities section.

XboxIfy

options are nice

- remove double spaces
- remove items in () at end of name
- remove spaces before removing characters
- limit characters to 42

these are the perfect settings for my roms, all of em had either (U)(F)(E)(J) to represent the country and most of em had "-" and they were all removed and some had thier names squished together and lost all the spaces but u can still make out the name of the rom

wicked stuff, 200roms on the first cd renamed in 1.3seconds
