Hello. I am planning on softmodding my xbox, but if i do, do i still need the chip installed? what's better softmod or using the chip?

No, you don't need the chip installed but I would reccommend not softmodding and keeping the chip in so you can still use Xbox Live.

Hmmm, correction, you CAN use live with a softmodded xbox, boot the xbox with the retail game in the drive, it boots the game before the softmod, live enabled smile.gif

okay and the Action Replay way of modding is the easiest? no other way to spend no $ ?

It is possible to hotswap your xbox drive, this means pluging it into your pc via the ide cable at the correct time, and transfering the game save files to the E partition, there are tutorials around for this. Its all free smile.gif
