Led Lights, Where do suppliers get them? Options

Hey guys,

I've been around here for a very long time, but I haven't posted in forever. Usually I just surf the boards for ideas and new information. However, I am interested in started a mod shop around town (and possibly online) and I was wondering where LED suppliers get the leds that they sell? I am a newbie on this topic, so please don't flame. Do they make them? Or buy them in bulk? Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

for the leds i got, i went to lsdiodes.com
ive had my blue leds for about a year and a half and havnt had any problems.
and that place is sure a hellvua lot cheaper than radioshack.

I'd say that the cheapest way to buy them... if to go directly to the manufacturer or BestHongKong leds... buy 50 000 leds... the price / led might drop a bit

yeah in bulk straight from makers in china is the best way to get them

definitly bulk. but it will cost a bit cause if u want em cheap u have to buy like 80,000

from what i've seen shops like lsdiodes (judging by their "# in stock") buy about 1000 of each at a time.

if you want bulk go to ebay look at the ebay stores, i have few i order from everynow and then, it's like 100 for only $1 free ship

yeah, but since i am a bit poorer, i only buy from ebay in lots of 10...but it still is a better deal then ratshack...

The supplier is generally in the LED lamp manufacturer with the goods, you want to buy, you can go directly to the manufacturers Nahuo, but, like the individual buy, not buy, generally there is no discounts, manufacturers will be according to market price to you, may not sell it to you, because you bought in quantity it is too small, maybe you can organize group purchase, more want to buy LED lamp, and then go to the manufacturer, it will be cheaper to buy, manufacturers will give you the wholesale!
