Hi

Ive got an .avi and a .sub. Ive sorted it so that the subtitles appear and in synch etc etc, but,
they get displayed on my TV right at the bottom of the screen cutting off the botom half of whats being said thuis making it impossible to read.
I remember that when using vobsub and stuff like that you could alter sub files and how they are displayed but this was when hard encoding the subs onto an avi and i was wondering of you could do this with XBMC?

When you open the sub file you get

{1}{1}23.976
{1}{264}*********
{2915}{3021}On 6Th January 1917
{3021}{3122}Blah blah blah blah,
{3124}{3167}more talking.
{3858}{3891}blah blah blah
{3910}{4028}yada yada yada
ETC ETC ETC

Ive tried messing with the TV but on every ratio it cuts most of it out, any ideas how i can shift this up a bit?

You can calibrate the location.

Go to the Settings->Video menu. And goto the screen calibration. 3rd option while calibrating is the subtitle position.

I'm pretty sure this is covered in the manual.

If it isn't then please add it to the wiki. And if it is, then RTFM first next time smile.gif

Hi, thanks for that
I probally should have explained myself a bit better.

The calibration option shifts the whole thing up, pic and subs, which is OK but i was looking to edit where on the screen the subtitle displays, im sure it must be editable somewhere?

im not sure what you mean by the wiki, sounds like some sort of hawiain drink beerchug.gif

For crying out loud!

CALIBRATE!

The first calibration moves the top left corner overscan.
The second calibration moves the low right corner overscan.

This so you can fit the picture to your screen.

The third calibration sets the SUBTITLE POSITION.
The forth calibration is for pixel ratio.
The fifth calibration is for the On Screen Display position.

And it is in the manual:

Time to start to read and do things correct now maybe?
