I am starting to do ftp transfers from my pc to xbox, and i wanted to know the best cable to get for the highest speed transfers. I am currently connecting my xbox to my router and router to my computer. I think the cables like 100mbps full duplex or somthing but when i look around i cant find anything/
In short whats the best cable to get the fastest data transfer speeds from xbox to pc. |

cat5 or cat5e should be all you need
if your xbox is very far away from your PC and your running a long cable cat6 might be better, but im not sure |

Hehehe it would have to be like 100M away for it to be a problem :-)
So unless he is connecting to his next door neighours xbox, he should be fine with cat5 The main slow down is to do with computer/FTP settings. but we can deal with that if it arises. For a comparison, FTP to my xbox via Flash FXP into Avalaunch, i usually get just a touch over 10,000Kb/s (10MB) so pretty much thats a 100Mb network at full tilt. Sometimes its around 8MB, but its fairly random. |
