I searched the forums and found an excellent tutorial for general networking of xbox console and home network. I used this and that got me setup initially. But, now I have recently bought a second xbox console and thought that all I needed to do was plug in the second console and away we go. Well apparently that is not exactly correct. When I fire up both consoles on the network both appear to be working fine but as soon as we begin to play in an xbox session through xbox live one or the other will freeze up and get disconnected. I actually have 2 high speed access points. Cable - for general network access has separate cable modem and router for home PC's. DSL Pro - for gaming consoles (Xbox) has separate modem and router for consoles only. Is this a real problem in my home or just a strange occurence? Seems that this should work with no problems. I am also looking at potentially adding another console to this setup. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Sincerely,
Tman

Get the latest firmware for your router. And make sure your router is compatible with XBL. You might also want to check and make sure the xboxes are not reporting the same MAC address to the router.

Do you have the ips set up on both of them as manual or automatic? A conflicting IP could be casuing your problem.

Why can't you just put the other xbox on the "general access" network?
