that must be a typo, right? Maybe its actually in reference to halo 2.5. I had a hard time believing halo 3 would make the Nov 2006 release date previously reported...no way do i believe this

There have been rumors that Halo 3 was being developed alongside Halo 2 which prolonged the Halo 2 release but would speed up the Halo 3 release.

Do the math, is coming out at the same time the PS3 and Revolution will both launch....

he could have also meant within the Financial year, not the calendar year. I believe the financial year goes to next march, but I'm not sure exactly when it is. I do know that he's probably referring to this financial year though.

I dunno what the deal is with Halo 3, but I hope that it comes out alot faster than Halo 2 and hopefully doesnt make me wanna buy the crappy T-Shirt that went along with the crappy game.

"within the year" & "slated for 2005" are the actual quotes from Game Reactor magazine. PREVIOUSLY it had been said to expect it a year or less from launch. i was expecting 12 months or so for a nov 2006 release. I like the idea of the fiscal year...but that would only give an extra 3 months. still makes it pretty hard to believe. maybe they were in fact developing 2 & 3 simultaneously, hence the lack of closure with the ending. It would make sense, seeing how long it took for them to develop 2, and since they have been working with the 360 for a while. Halo was an xbox launch title and maybe they wanted some sort of halo game for the 360 launch so they essentially made one really large story and cut it into 2 parts so they would have a halo game close to the 360 launch. think about it....

In fact halo 3 is rumoured to be out this year among other suprises. These will be shown at E3. As well as square enix support, if ne1 checked the xbox360 site as soon as it went live under publishers it had square enix listed and it was then removed. So halo 3 and square/enix are E3 exclusives. Also the ps3 is being pushed forward to a 2005 early 2006 release. Because the nvidia gpu is now ready and ps3 dont want to lose too much marketshare by being late.
