First, Nice to see the change to uxe-complete 2.2 with the addition of the ROOT (dashboard) folder being on the E: drive... makes much more sense with Shadow-c now!

now, i've looked for a breakdown or a good guide for UEEE and haven't found it so I'm gonna ask...

What is UEEE (I know it is the Easter Egg Exploit)

How about compatibility (Kernels and Dashs)

Why use it over UXE?

What are the downsides... gets wiped out with update maybe?

And what is this NDURE stuff. the stuff on xwiki doesn't make ANY sense to me. How is it better than UXE if it can get erased with a simple dash update :S

Simply, UEEE is an EEE built on UXE technology.

UXE takes control at boot up.
UEEE boots to the regular M$ Dash, then the user has to perform the finger dancing to launch the EEE.

Ya pick ya preference!

UXE and UEEE/NDURE (same fonts + trigger xbe, diff location) have no kernel limits

UXE has some memory bug that fucks your eeprom if you change settings (using a virtual eeprom prevents corrupting your eeprom) and is reluctant to boot anything but English/4:3 or letterbox config in your REAL eeprom. Again, a virtual eeprom doesn't load untill after boot so no prbs if that has other settings.

UEEE/NDURE boots with (any?) language, has no known memory layout issue that causes eeprom corruption, support for XBL update.xbe's (content downloads/game updates etc) can be added in case you want, however then you must fill up the C drive to prevent a dashboard update if you do this.

And some more freaky shit like non-coldboot XBL access etcetc. NDURE is the bootstrapped version, UEEE the "double dash" version (boot to M$ dash first).

Er, No it doesn't.

UXE is probably the widest used XBOX soft-mod exploit at this point in time, and has many satisfied users.

It’s true that additional scrap “s.xtf “files are occasionally needed for some non-English, or untypical EEPROM settings. But once installed, UXE has no reported reliably issues. None of the exploits "fuck your eeprom", or even write to it in any way!

NDURE has its merits, but lets not spread misinformation on the other exploits.

yeah the memory layout problems are way to much overrated. They are close to non-existant when you use a virtual eeprom. I agree ndure has the update.xbe acces benefit over the UXE but saying that using UXE is dangerous (or even saying it fucks you eeprom which is totally untrue) is a bit unfair.

UXE is not dangerous.

as krayzie stated, memory layout problems don't exist if you use a virtual eeprom, as all settings are written to it.

as for coldbooting, well you either 1.) simply don't change potentially dangerous settings (which is hard to anyway via games) or 2.) prevent coldbooting.

other than that its just as safe.
