{: xsonicc => Ndure 3.0 beta is a better choice now (see kingroach's sig) <= Jangaboo :}
I recommend installing it like this:
create a folder named Ndure in C:\ (on the PC)
create a folder named C in C:\Ndure
copy your MS dash backup into C:\Ndure\C
run Ndure-3.0.exe [Next] 'Add UDDAE' and 'Add Ndure Toolset' (in addition to the 3 default options) C:\Ndure (it's *not* the C folder here!) [Next] [Finish]
(in window's properties, verify that C:\Ndure\C is 496 MB and C:\Ndure\E is 13.5 MB)
(if you have existing MS dash soundtracks and want to keep them, then rename your /E/TDATA/fffe000/music/ST.DB so it remains available)
transfer C:\Ndure\E\TDATA\fffe000\music\ST.DB into /E/TDATA/fffe000/music/
transfer C:\Ndure\E\ndts (folder&contents) into /E/ (or /E/apps/ if you want it auto-listed in the softmod)
transfer C:\Ndure\E\dash (folder&contents) into /E/
delete all of the Xbox's (real)C contents
transfer all of C:\Ndure\C (8 folders&contents and 2 files) into /C/
re-start the Xbox; its (virtual)C is empty initially, so it's a good idea to ftp your MS dash backup into there now too...

I uploaded a new build.. changes:
* Extra UDDAE option, you can choose to boot either NKpatcher or x2onlinedash.xbe by deafult.
* Changes Xbox.xtf to xbox.xtf for xboxhdm installation ( thnx for the hint NP). Other than ordering issue, xboxhdm also has issue with any Uppercase filde.. there is switch that will create a .iso with all lowercase files ( forgot the switch)..
* New readme..
again I will recommend new users to use Ndure installer 2.1 which is tested and you can get from xbins.

In your "readme.pdf", under #2. Retail Setup, it says to "Have all of the dash files in a folder named "C"." I was wondering if you could be more specific on which files are the "dash files". I'm not sure whether you are talking about the ALL of the backed up contents of the original "C" or a couple of the folders (which include "dash" in the folder name) and a couple of files. I haven't been on the mod scene for a while and all this is new to me so I'm trying to play catch-up. Thanks in advance!

{= ticaal; it's actually under #3. Patching C drive files (but that's black not red) and means ALL of the MS dashboard's folders and files. =}
kingroach; well done ... yet another 1st for your uber softmod installer! (Maybe change the installer's description text for the new feature, to something like "Load xonlinedash console at UDDAE instead of Nkpatcher".)
Also, consider adding the generic font and generic ST.DB to the end of the kernel specific lists too ... then if they're all selected, which is easily done, I presume the last copied will be the generic (plus folks that think they have to select one will have that choice too)...

Oops, you're right, I didn't see that #3 since it was black. Thanks for the clarification. Now I have another simple question: I have a newly purchased xbox with 5838 kernel and dash 5960. After deleting all contents from the xbox "C" folder/drive, there is only about 299 MB of space available. This is not enough to hold the shadowc image, so I cannot select the shadowc image during the patching process. Is it ok to leave the shadowc option deselected? Or am I not supposed to send the shadowc to the xbox "C" drive/folder? Thanks again!

you should have about 500MB of space in any blank C drive.. anyway the shadowc is not important is your xbox will work without it.. but it will protect your C drive.. and you can only place shadowc in C:\shadowc\ folder..

i installed ndure BUT i didn't copy the C contents before making the iso because it was already softmodded a long time a go, so now that i have my new drive in the box i can't access the m$ dash because there isn't any, so what can i do to see the real C contents in my new drive ...
i already have an m$ dash from another box, so how can i transfer them ?? i try to transfer them directly to the C drive but it always appears empty ... (that's shadow c right ? )

Kicks, you can just copy the files to empty shadowc and access xbox dashboard from there.. otherwise you can also run PBL to disable shadowc and see real C. There is a Ndure toolset included with the install which has PBL.
Ticall, I think you are seeing shadowc which is 299MB..
