You don't need to remove a softmod to play on live.
Just cold boot a game to play it. I'd suggest a live blocking bios though |

I've allready tried signing on but it says nothing and doesnt log on. Sorry for the noob question but i dont know what a coldboot is. I don't want the softmod on it because all this stuff is to complex for me.

Put the original game in the drive, turn the xbox off, turn it back on agian. thats a coldboot, it boots the game before it boots the softmod, so your xbox is in a safe state for live. If you cant connect to live with the mod enabled, then your softmod is blocking you from live so you dont ban yourself

Simple question Simple answer, just saw it before i was about to ask my simple "newbie question".
Go to your xbox hard drive and find the file that you placed there to mod the box. DELETE it. Then reboot your xbox to make sure your softmod is gone, you can use the backup option before deleting it if you wish but you don't need to. After the soft mod is gone it won't let you on live? So go to settings, then network settings and change your ip configuration to automatic(it should be set on manual because your softmod (linux by any chance?) won't allow you to use xblive. let me know if this didn't work. btw if you don't switch your settings to automatic your ip adress will be different so you will get an error msg saying xblive not responding. please try again later. |

I coldbooted like you guys said and its says start network troubleshooter. I think the softmod i used is blocking. I used SoftMod Deluxe Splinter Cell with a linux profile. All i want is to play Halo 2 on live no mods or nothing. Thanks for the previous advice.

So you made a reply to somthing you know nothing about?, its not just a matter of deleting things from the hdd, that could kill the xbox. To fully remove a softmod you need to make the C drive stock, replacing all the files from your C backup will remove the mod. I would use triggernum5's softmod installer, it allows coldbooting and has the UEEE mod installed, allowing you to replace the softmod without the exploitable game ie: bringing the softmod back without splinter cell.
