This is the list of confirmed region free Xbox games, the retail disc will work on any Xbox, regardless of regional issues (region setting and/or video region).

Many XS members don’t live in the U.S.A. or are citizens of other countries. This is also a good list for gamers with unmodded consoles. Gamers Chat, you know… wink.gif

Please keep this thread helpful, like adding to it. Don’t bash a good info resource because you don’t think it’s pertinent to you, please. smile.gif

Thanks to the forum members at NTSC-uk.com for the posts. beerchug.gif

Just did a scan of my games on my Hard Drive with Qwix. These games has a region "Mix". I'm guessing they're milti-region games?

Auto Modellista
Blinx 2: Masters of Time & Space
Cold Fear
Crash Twinsanity
Destroy All Humans!
Fantastic Four
Jade Empire
Juiced
MX vs ATV Unleashed
Ninja Gaiden
Silent Hill 4
Spider-Man 2
The Punisher

EDIT: Just wanted to add that these are all from NTSC Discs running on an NTSC Console. Plus removed some games that are listed already in above post (Forza, Ghost Recon 2, Halo 2, Doom 3, Jade Empire, Mechassault 2, Prince of Persia 2, Splinter Cell: CT, Unreal Championship 2)

Thanks RS! I get the same "mix" bit in Qwix too, and maybe we can get some confirmation on these.

Bear in mind, though, that the NTSC-uk resource is gear towards non-modded systems in many cases, so we have to get non-mod retail confirmation. I'll look into it though. smile.gif

Ninja Gaiden is definitely not.

Yes, only surefire way to tell if a title is region free, is to use the original disc, have no modchip enabled and use Config magic or other equavalent program to change the Xbox region to something different from the disc.

There are still many untested games out there and since I have unmodded PAL and NTSC Xbox's, I'm always on the look out for region free games.

You're post was what turned me on to that site, fahrenheit. smile.gif

I asked for permission from the site admin and he said okay, and I'm following the thread. But since you're a member there, if you see something I miss, please let me know. beerchug.gif

Note: I think the reason Qwix reports Ninja Gaiden as "mixed" is because it has both English and Japanese cutscenes/voice/subs. Not sure, just a guess.

But then again, Forza shows as a mix (and has multiple languages) and is confirmed region free, while Conker also has multi-language, but reports as either PAL or NTSC. unsure.gif Just a thought.

Hmm, Qwix maybe a little ambivalent in its labelling?
Having a PAL/NTSC/MIX for region labels is not very accurate, because you could have an NTSC game that is Region 1 (US) or Region 2(Jap).

US and Japanese NTSC versions of Ninja Gaiden are interchangeable between US and Japanese consoles, but PAL consoles can't play either version. So that game likely has Region 1 and 2 in its coding, or some other code that is anti-region 4 (PAL) Dead or Alive: Ultimate is the same.
RocafellaSqualie's list my be further examples of this, the games are mixed region, but not all region?
