2005-05-30 isnt new... Anyway just create an XBMC folder in your apps dir, and put it there. Like F:/Apps/XBMC

Yes and edit the xboxmediacenter.xml (change the home dir). Then put the defualt.xbe (rename it to whatever the bios for the dash) and the xboxmediacenter.xml file on the C root.

In case you need "noob-proof" directions...

I'm assuming you already have knowledge of how to use ftp.

So put all of the xbmc files into a folder (E:\Apps\XBMC\ or F:\Apps\XBMC\).

Change/edit the first tag of XboxMediaCenter.xml to: <home>E:\Apps\XBMC\</home> or <home>F:\Apps\XBMC\</home>.

Take note of your evox dashboard file (most likely evoxdash.xbe) and rename it to default.xbe.

Move the evox 'default.xbe' and the folders 'bios', 'skin' and 'trainers' (if they exist) to a new folder, F or E:\Apps\Evox\.
*This way, evox can still be used as an app if desired. If you no longer want evox. Just delete the files instead of moving them.*

Move XBMC's 'default.xbe' (should be located at E or F:\Apps\XBMC\ if you already moved all the files) and the edited 'XboxMediaCenter.xml' to C:\.

Finally, rename the moved default.xbe file to what the evox dashboard xbe file was named (most likely evoxdash.xbe).

Your xbox should now boot and load the evoxdash.xbe file which will read XboxMediaCenter.xml to find that E or F:\Apps\XBMC\ is where the XBMC files are located, then load XBMC.

Hope that helps you,
-Danny

Again, i do not see where he asks how to make XBMC his dash, and for the record: There is a tutorial in the pinned topics on how to update your XBMC version AND one for how to make it your dash....

Neither do I, but from reading my post, I'm pretty sure that he can figure out that if, for some reason only god knows why, he would want to keep the evox dash that Slayers2.6 installed, he would just leave all those files alone, and keep the XBMC files in the \Apps\XBMC\ folder.

I was just trying to get another person to use XBMC as their main dashboard since it's such a great application.
